Wendy McLean, Teaching Fellow/Studio Manager at Reading School of Art, is the recipient of the Diverse And Inclusive Teaching Excellence Award 2019/20. RSA staff Oren Shoesmith and Angus Wyatt also received nominations in this year’s awards. Awarded by Reading University Students’ Union, the RUSU Excellence Awards recognise University of Reading staff who display excellent and innovative teaching practice. RUSU awards the staff who students believe have gone above and beyond expectations, tirelessly working to improve the delivery of the teaching and learning experience.

The Diverse And Inclusive Teaching Excellence Award is for teaching staff that design and deliver an engaging and diverse curriculum, accessible for all students and learning styles. Previous winners have been described as innovative, conscientious and those that continually go out of their way to help. They encourage students to be proactive, and to challenge and consider different experiences and perspectives.
