Finalist Amy Richardson’s work on homelessness featured by Shelter and The Big Issue

The work of textile artist and 2019 finalist Amy Richardson has been featured on Shelter’s Instagram page. Amy was among the recipients of this year’s Owen Ridley Prize for Outstanding Work.

Art student Amy sadly lost her Uncle Mark in 2015, who died while experiencing homelessness. . . For her final art degree show, she chose to commemorate her uncle's life through her art. The free sewing machine embroidered cushions represent a tapestry of Mark's life and the complexities of homelessness.
