Curated by Simon Willems, this exhibition brings together sixteen contemporary artists and artist collaborations from across the world who respond to, thematise and critique wellness narratives in organisational and work-related contexts. Drawing on a range of strategies and media, including film, video, performance, sculpture, painting, digital practice and installation, the show explores the different ways in which narratives of well-being facilitate neoliberal management policies and distract from structural questions in the workplace.

Symposium:

The exhibition is being held in conjunction with a two-day symposium, Rethinking Wellbeing through Art: How Artists Critique Wellness Narratives in the Workplace. The symposium runs 16-17 July at University of Greenwich,10 Stockwell Street . For more information and sign up, please see HERE.

The exhibition and symposium are jointly funded by the University of Reading and the University of Greenwich in conjunction with the British Academy. Led by Dr Simon Willems, both events are the culmination of  his recent British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Reading.
