Beyond the Voyage is an immersive event featuring young British artists who explore stories and experiences of migration, integration and what it means to be a person of dual heritage living in the UK.
Working across digital media, film, animation, sound, performance, sculpture and poetry, artists Kimberly Cookey-Gam, Tanya Chitunhu, Daniel Guthrie, Derrick Kakembo, Sahar Mangal, Munesu Mukombe, Tamu Nkiwane, and Niquelle LaTouche – who were selected from the Beyond the Voyage Open Call – will collaborate on this event alongside Elsie Ayotunde Cullen, artist and founder of Our Peoples and Ayo Early Years, and Joke Valerie Amusan, final year student at University of Reading; and the voice behind blog and Instagram handle She Stands Firm.
The event is presented by
WOKE., a project conceived by artist and filmmaker Nacheal Catnott as a
platform to promote and support artists of colour.
